      Peter Cheese, CEO of the CIPD, commented in his welcome to the March 2016 issue of People Management, that innovation is urgently needed...we are delighted and proud to announce on this very special day, HRH The Queen's 90th birthday, that The Training Foundation has received the most prestigious business award in the UK for a second time - a Queen's Award for Enterprise for 'Innovation in the Quality Assurance of Learning & Development'.

    • The Training Foundation launches new TAP 'matrix' approach to Subject Matter Expert development

      Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) are increasingly being used to support the delivery of training, as Learning & Development teams continue to face budgetary pressures to downsize and deliver more. However, SMEs are often ignored when it comes to professional development in training delivery skills, primarily due to the fact that line managers are under pressure not to release them for training and face budgetary constraints. The Training Foundation has developed a simple, effective and practical solution to this issue, which includes a one day programme giving SMEs critical TAP delivery skills.

    • New Global Director for Policing appointed at The Training Foundation

      The Training Foundation is delighted to welcome David Annets, who joined the team as Global Director for the Policing sector on 2 November 2015. David comes with a fantastic pedigree, with over 30 years in Policing, the last four of which have been spent in Learning & Development closely associated to the College of Policing Ryton and delivering senior management & leadership programmes across the globe.

    • TAP® is becoming a de facto standard across the Nuclear sector

      The Training Foundation has been approved by the National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN) as an Employer Nominated Training Provider. NSAN has welcomed TAP’s inclusion as an Employer Nominated Approved Provider and recommends TAP, as they firmly believe that the quality of employee training is crucial to the sector’s success in addressing the skills challenges the sector is facing for the planned nuclear programme.

    • The TAP® e-QUAL Programme is launched, enabling e-Learning Designs to be Quality-Assured

      The e-QUAL Programme development followed from collaboration with NHS Wales and Academi Wales and a case study outlining the successful pilot programme may be viewed on the TAP website. Following feedback from the pilot, the TAP e-QUAL Programme is now launched. It will be relevant to any organisation which is resourcing self-study e-Learning modules, whether designed and developed internally or externally. Based on the TAP e-Learning Design Guidelines, e-QUAL is an integrated Programme which (a) provides skills training to enable content development that meets the Guidelines and (b) trains delegates in an objective assessment methodology, leading to TAP Certified e-QUAL Assessor status.

      The Training Foundation is the first organisation to be awarded the UK's most prestigious business accolade for a training skills qualification in the 40-year history of the Queen's Awards for Enterprise. The Trainer Assessment Programme (TAP) has been adopted by trainers from more than 1,000 organisations since its launch in 1998.

    • On-line course that targets MRSA ‘Superbug’ shortlisted for World of Learning Award

      The organisers of the World of Learning Conference and Exhibition 2004 have announced that 'MRSA –You can make a difference' has been short listed for a prestigious World of Learning Award. More than 400,000 NHS employees and contractors are now licensed to access this innovative course online over the Internet and this figure is still growing.
