Standards, according to the learning industry’s specialist recruitment firm Blue Eskimo, are vital for both employers and employees. For employers, working within defined standards can help to lower recruitment costs. For employees, standards can help to differentiate one person against another – delivering an edge over other candidates when interviewing for a new job.

“It’s something we feel strongly about,” says Blue Eskimo director Nick Jones. “Especially those set out by the Learning & Performance Institute. We’re the only recruitment company to be an LPI-Accredited Service Provider and we’ve already aligned our recruitment processes to the LPI’s superb Capability Map. We’re now ready to take our support even further.”

Candidates who register with Blue Eskimo – or who are already registered with Blue Eskimo – can now get 20% discount off their first year’s membership with the Learning & Performance Institute. For individuals, the Institute has four levels of membership (affiliate, associate, member and fellow); those joining can save between £19.50 and £29.50 on their initial fees. This offer applies to new LPI members’ first year of membership only and can’t be combined with any other offer.

“Membership of the LPI shows a strong commitment to the learning industry,” says Jones. “It helps to demonstrate how important your career is to you. It’s something that employers favour when hiring. So, we wanted to make membership more accessible to our candidates. And there are lots of other benefits of membership apart from professional recognition – including access to research, events, networking, discounts and a regular newsletter.”

“Our goal is simple,” concludes Jones. “We want to be working with the best companies in the industry and recommending the best candidates to them. We very much believe that membership of the LPI, and working within its standards, is a clear differentiator. If, by encouraging people to be members, we help them find better jobs – or help companies attract better people – then it’s a benefit to everyone.”
