What do sport, music, art and dog training have to teach the learning profession? Great Minds on Learning, the podcast that traces learning theory from the Greeks to the geeks, returns on 3 August for its eighth season — this time looking at how learning works in domains far beyond the workplace.

Hosts John Helmer and Donald Clark open the season with Sport and Learning (3 August), followed by how creators learn music, art, films & TV (17 August) and how we learn to write (1 September), with a final episode on dogs and learning to close the year in December. As ever, the pair mine each field for what its research, coaching traditions and hard-won practice can tell L&D professionals about how people actually learn.

Meanwhile The Learning Hack, now in its seventh year and ranked in the top 5% of podcasts globally for listens, returns for season 16 in September. Confirmed guests so far include Erica Farmer and Ross Stevenson, with further names to be announced. The season runs fortnightly from September to November.

Both shows are available on all major podcast platforms and YouTube. Episode updates and follow-up essays are published on the Learning Hack Substack.
