Blue Eskimo, the specialist recruitment provider to both learning providers and corporate L&D departments, has just released the results of its annual work and salary survey. Now in it’s 11th year, this year one of the key findings of the survey is that L&D industry pay has increased by a level greater than in any previous year.

The survey revealed that 50% of respondents received pay rises in 2022, compared with 47% the year before.

But what was particularly notable was the level of increases. 15% of L&D professionals secured a pay rise of over 20% - and 5% of people surveyed got their salaries raised by more than 40%. These represent the largest increases ever recorded by the annual survey.

The survey also showed that, over the last 10 years, there has been a near doubling of L&D professionals earning over £100,000. 6% in 2022 compared to 3.5% in 2012.

The full survey contains many more industry insightsabout what L&D professionals really think about their jobs, how they feel they are treated by their employers and potential job movements in 2023. It can be downloaded free, from Blue Eskimo’s website.

Blue Eskimo is also exhibiting at Learning Technologieson 3rd-4th May, stand J35 and will be available to discuss the survey findings in more detail.
