The UK’s leading recruitment specialist for the learning industry, Blue Eskimo, chooses the sector’s key event – Learning Technologies – to celebrate ten years of growth.

When Blue Eskimo attends Learning Technologies at the end of January, it will also be celebrating a significant event: the company will be ten years old. According to Blue Eskimo director Nick Jones, there’s no more fitting place for them to spend their birthday.

“Learning Technologies is the industry’s key event,” says Jones. “It’s a gathering of almost everyone in the sector. There’s no place else we’d rather be on our birthday – celebrating, with our customers and peers.”

Founded in January 2003, Blue Eskimo’s vision was to be the leading specialist recruitment provider for the learning industry. “Everyone within Blue Eskimo has previously worked in the learning industry,” says Jones. “It’s one of the things which really sets us apart – we know the industry inside out; we know the companies, the jobs, the roles, because we’ve worked within leading training organisations. It’s a degree of expertise we think no other recruitment provider can offer.”

Co-owned by Jones and colleague Nick Bate, Blue Eskimo helps learning companies and corporate learning departments to recruit for e-learning jobs, trainer jobs, sales jobs and more – including senior and executive jobs. In 2011, Blue Eskimo became the nominated recruitment provider for the Learning & Performance Institute – a unique relationship which continues to this day.

“We’re the first – and currently the only – recruitment provider to be accredited by the Learning & Performance Institute,” says Jones. “This is something of which we’re especially proud.”

Blue Eskimo’s position within the learning industry is further cemented by the company’s annual Salary and Work Survey – which has been undertaken each year for the last five years. “We found that no company was undertaking a survey of this kind,” says Jones, “and we felt that it was important that this kind of information be available in an up-to-date form. We decided that this was something we were best placed to do – and it’s been a great success. We’ve just published the results for our fifth survey – and the data, as ever, makes compelling reading.”

You can meet the Blue Eskimo team, get a free printed overview of the 2012 Salary and Work Survey – and discuss its findings – on stand 17 at Learning Technologies 2013, at Olympia 2 on 29–30 January 2013.

“We’d love to welcome everyone to our stand to share our birthday,” concludes Jones, “and perhaps at the evening event, to share a cold one or two!”
