Skills gaps put human capability at the centre of AI transformation debate

Learning NewsSponge

Leaders from The LEGO Group, Deloitte, Fosway, 8Levers and Sponge to discuss human skills and AI transformation on 12 November.

Skills gaps are the most widely reported barrier to business transformation in the World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025, cited by 63% of employers surveyed.*

The report also identifies analytical thinking as employers’ leading core skill, while creative thinking and lifelong learning are expected to grow in importance alongside AI and big data.

For organisations investing in AI, those findings raise a practical question: how should learning and enablement programmes evolve to strengthen the human capabilities that help turn AI technology into business value?

Sponge will bring together learning and enablement leaders from the LEGO Group, Deloitte, Fosway, 8Levers and Sponge on Thursday 12 November to explore that question. The virtual roundtable, ‘It’s never been a better time to be more human at work’, is a special edition of Sponge Sessions, a live podcast series.

The discussion will examine how AI is changing the value people bring to work and what that means for development priorities and spending. Topics to be explored include:

  • Which human skills matter most when AI can do more of the work?
  • How do we strengthen those skills while developing AI maturity?
  • Where should we focus enablement investment to build lasting business value?
  • How is AI shaping how we learn at work and what should be best practice?

The roundtable takes place on Thursday 12 November 2026 at 4 PM UK / 11 AM EST / 8 AM PST. The discussion will last 50 minutes, followed by Q&A.
