Reed Learning to deliver a seminar at the Learning Technologies Summer Forum on the importance of laughter in learning

London | UKLearning NewsReed Learning

For L&D professionals who dare to be different, Reed Learning will be running a seminar at this year's Learning Technologies Summer Forum on the importance of laughter in learning. The 30-minute session will cover the do's and dont's of humour, use of storytelling, pacing, vocal techniques, engaging with your audience and how to embrace your nerves.

Reed Learning's unconventional session will encourage those involved in training to explore their lighter side. Rather than getting bogged down in facts, figures and detail, it will consider the use of narrative and the benefits of fun in learning. Titled "Why so serious?", the session will leave attendees feeling confident and motivated to inject some humour into their next training session or presentation.

This free session will take place at 11:15am in theatre four and will be delivered by Reed Learning's trainer Wendy Reed. The Summer Forum event itself is running at Olympia on 17th June 2014, and Reed Learning will be showcasing its products and services on stand four at the exhibition.

Ben Waldman, Learning Consultant at Reed Learning said: "Effective learning conveys meaning in an interesting and involving way. You don't have to laugh to learn, but humour and storytelling tap into a very human desire to be engaged, drawn in and involved in both content and process. This seminar takes a quirky look at using humour, and we hope it encourages some bravery and creativity!".
