Spotlight on Supporting Regional Businesses and Charities
‘Thinking globally, but acting locally’, is at the forefront of Nimble Elearning’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) goals. They continually aim to contribute to supporting the Gloucestershire region where they are based.
Through volunteering, business support and ethically oriented practices, Nimble continually asks the question, “What more can we do to support our local and regional charities and businesses?”
To answer this question, on 25 January 2023, two of Nimble’s directors Neil Hyde and Alex Hathway are supporting the work of not-for-profit Caring for Communities and People to directly alleviate the financial pressure of the cost of living crisis on ordinary people. They will be joining 100 other local business leaders sleeping rough at the #BigSleepOut, raising money for and awareness of homeless people, or those on the brink of homelessness.
Commercial Director Alex Hathway says, “With the sub-zero temperatures we’re experiencing at the moment our hearts go out to those less fortunate who cannot afford the expense of heating, or worse, are suffering on the streets without shelter. We are pleased to help raise funds for CCP whose mission is to support and distribute aid where it’s most needed.”
The CCP charity are aiming to raise £100,000 which will be used to provide:
- emergency financial support and debt, housing and benefit advice for people on the brink of homelessness
- family support services to keep families together and supported
- emergency food parcels for their Community Pantry project for those living in poverty
- supported housing for 16-25 year olds who would otherwise be homeless
- reaching out to homeless people to help get them back into accommodation
Caring for Communities and People is based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, and they exist to prevent the causes and reduce the effects of homelessness, family breakdown and exclusion. They currently deliver services and projects across the South West region.
Nimble is also supporting regional businesses through the sponsorship of two prestigious SoGlos Gloucestershire Business and Lifestyle awards – 'Family Day Out of the Year' category in the SoGlos Gloucestershire Lifestyle Awards, which is being launched for its sixth year running in January, and the 'Charity of the Year' category at the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards which will take place later in the year.
Alex Hathway explains, “In 2022, we sponsored the Customer Excellence category at the SoGlos Gloucestershire Business Awards. As we’re all about our customers, sponsoring that category was a great way to show our support for all the brilliant businesses here in Gloucestershire. This year, we wanted to become even more involved. We have a large number of customers in the leisure and charity sectors, so it’s the perfect fit for us to sponsor those organisations who are really making a positive difference to the lives of people in our local and regional areas.”
Nimble Elearning’s media partners SoGlos have grown to become Gloucestershire’s leading media brand. Celebrating its 16-year anniversary in 2023, SoGlos showcases the county on a local, national and international scale – inspiring its audience to get the most from living in, working in and visiting Gloucestershire.
Throughout 2023, Nimble will continually look for opportunities for their team to contribute to supporting local and regional businesses and charities.
