“We have a great deal of successful content, we wanted an authoring tool to bring our own unique brand of content to life.” That’s what Gayle Tong from Ann Summers told Nimble Elearning when they became their customer 18 months ago.

Gayle will join the Gloucestershire-based elearning company to talk about how they successfully brought that content to life at the Learning Technologies event at London Olympia, Theatre 9, 1:15:00 PM - 1:45:00 PM on Thursday 1 February.

It’s a wonderful story of how to embed elearning into the culture of an organisation.

Having created, designed and developed a wide variety of development solutions meeting the internal customer needs over the years Gayle chose Nimble as their elearning platform. In 18 months they authored 100 online courses which are now available for learners, more are being developed and expanded all the time. There have been 18,000 course completions of their current courses. Significantly this hasn’t happened with a huge instructional design team either – but with just one part-time manager.

The Ann Summers brand is iconic, sexy and ambitious and brings certain challenges from a learning and development perspective. It’s why they took their time finding the right platform.

Their selection of Nimble came down to two factors; simplicity of use and the right kind of relationship. Gayle has a retail management background and worked at Ann Summers for 10 years, in that time she worked her way up from Retail Training Officer to now having responsibility for all the Learning & Development across the business.

She told Nimble about the journey the company has taken to get the elearning model right: “We kept in touch with Nimble for 2 years, they were never pushy but always ready to answer our many questions. We value great working relationships where we can get advice and support and Nimble delivered that in spades. It also needed to be simple and easy to use and work with our current systems in store and Head Office. We built excitement about e-learning and incorporated it into the launch of our Retail Talent Academy, I didn't want the Academy & elearning to be separate. We use a blended learning approach where colleagues will use e-learning and complete their Learning Journals.”

Gayle will be joined in the seminar by Ben Reed, Product Consultant for Nimble. Ben has worked at the forefront of digital learning for over 25 years, and his passion and enthusiasm hasn’t waned one little bit. Since its launch in 2013, Nimble has grown because of its willingness to forge relationships with its customers. As many of its client organisations have had little or no experience in elearning, a platform that is simple-to-use has been a crucial factor.

Visitors can find out more from Gayle at the Ann Summers seminar at the Learning Technologies event in Olympia on February 1st at 13.15. Or they can visit the Nimble stand T3 to meet the team.
