The finalists for the L&D sector’s night of the year, the Learning Awards 2014, have been announced by The Learning and Performance Institute following a record number of submissions.

The Learning and Performance Institute (LPI) is delighted to announce the finalists for the Learning Awards 2014, the L&D sector’s annual celebration of outstanding achievement, best practice and excellence in corporate learning and performance. This prestigious event, which is in its 17th year, will take place at The Dorchester, Park Lane, London on 6 February 2014.

This year the LPI have seen a significant increase in the number of submissions and has once again had a record number of organisations and individuals entering for the first time. Additionally, a number of new categories have been added to represent the changing landscape of learning and performance field.

The LPI’s Chief Executive, Colin Steed, said: “We were taken aback by the huge number of submissions this year and were delighted to see such a large number of new companies entering for the first time. The depth and quality of submissions continues to rise ever higher and I'm delighted to see that performance improvements for the business features heavily again. It seems that our message is getting through and L&D professionals are now working with the business to improve performance rather than being training course order takers.

“I'd like to offer my congratulations to all the Finalists and look forward to seeing them at The Dorchester on 6th February. To those who did not make the finals they should know that with such high competition they have not failed but should be proud of their achievements. With such a large number of entries the competition was fierce. They need to continue working with the business, continue raising the standards and hopefully we will be welcoming them to the Learning Awards next year.

“The 2014 Learning Awards are going to be the most competitive ever and just to make the finals is a tremendous achievement for which the organisations and the individuals should be truly proud.”
