Institute launches mentoring scheme for members
We are delighted to announce the launch of Institute of IT Training's Professional Mentoring Scheme.
This Scheme has been developed in direct response to Member needs. Often cited issues which Members are seeking to address include:
· they are often the only training professional in the business
· they can often feel isolated
· there is a need to talk to other training professionals
· there is a desire to have access to an expert on call, to help with day-to-day issues and someone to bounce business ideas off
· new-in-post managers are often overwhelmed with demands placed upon them yet are unable to resolve this through internal resources
· they understand that their organisation is changing, yet are unsure of how best to respond
For many Members, the cost of bringing in consultants or hiring extra staff can be prohibitive. In addition the outcome may not be as desired and often the recipient of such assistance is left wondering how the end result was achieved. The Mentoring Scheme not only provides targeted assistance, it also ensures there is sufficient transfer of knowledge so that actions can be repeated without recourse to further support.
For the first time, this Scheme enables IITT Members to access professional support on a specific needs basis. Available to all Institute Members the Scheme will be of specific interest to:
· training managers
· trainers
· training providers
Access to the Professional Mentoring Scheme costs from £2,000 per year for IITT Members. For this investment each Member will receive a minimum of one day face-to-face mentoring and up to 12 hours of email and telephone support over a 12 month period. Further days of support can be purchased if required at a cost of £850 per day. For Members not wishing to join the Mentoring Scheme, support can still be purchased at £1,000 per day. As you can see, membership of the Scheme represents excellent value for money and provides access to professional support as and when required. Please note these prices are valid for an initial period until April 1st 2006.
Mentoring is not only an ideal way to access expertise; it's also of benefit to your organisation. In a recent industry survey:
