World of Learning speakers preview October event
Learning News speaks to organisers and speakers ahead of World of Learning, returning to the NEC Birmingham this October.
World of Learning returns to Birmingham on 6 & 7 October, bringing L&D practitioners, industry experts and suppliers together for its annual conference and exhibition.
Event organiser Tracy Shah, conference chair Robin Hoyle and speakers Samir Das, Helen Chesney and Tom McDowall discuss what delegates can expect, including: changes in work and the role of L&D, practical applications of AI, skills-based organisations, learning science and the persistent challenge of demonstrating the business impact of learning.
Shah describes an expanding remit for L&D, with practitioners increasingly involved in productivity, business transformation, workforce skills and the implementation of AI.
Hoyle gives an early view of the conference programme, which includes author Matthew Syed on curiosity and continued development and academic Prit Choudhury on organisational performance and changing patterns of work.
Samir Das of Meta looks ahead to his session on the practical use of AI in workplace learning. Helen Chesney of Ipsos considers how learning teams can connect their work more directly with business measures, and Tom McDowall discusses skills-based organisations and the application of learning science to everyday L&D practice.
