Learning leaders from Next, Santander UK, Hilti and the Institute of Transfer Effectiveness to share best practice
Esteemed World of Learning Conference to take place on 15 and 16 October at the NEC, Birmingham.
The World of Learning Conference offers a valuable opportunity for senior L&D professionals to grow their knowledge and connections through a carefully procured two-day programme of presentations, case studies and keynote speeches.
L&D leaders from both the private and public sectors will share their experiences of developing their workforces and optimising business outcomes.
Among others, Santander UK, Next, Scottish Social Services Council and Hilti will tackle topics including: the key skills needed for leading L&D, mental health and wellbeing, and improving learner engagement.
A key theme across the renowned conference is that of change and how organisations can support their workforces to respond to it effectively. Applied Futurist Tom Cheesewright will open the conference with is his fascinating keynote presentation: ‘L&D 2030 – Surviving a high frequency change environment.’
Krystyna Gadd is the founder of How to Accelerate Learning and will be sharing her '5 secrets of accelerated learning' on the first morning of the conference along with her client, Kate Thomas, from Wales and West Housing Association.
"In times of accelerated change, we need accelerated learning, and it can be tempting to leap into 'solution mode', coming up with reactive and sometimes even impulsive approaches to our learning programmes.
“I look forward to sharing an approach that will deliver on your stakeholders’ expectations and that can achieve their long-term goals, as well as the lasting impact you need. Kate will be sharing the effect of the approach on Wales and West housing Association."
From the private sector, Andy Latham, Head of Health, Safety and Wellbeing at Next, will join Hugo Metcalfe of Oakwood Training to present: ‘How Data analytics can inform learning design and deliver success.’
Providing insights from a multi-national organisation, Robert Ashcroft, Head of Learning Strategy and Development at Santander UK, will present with Andy Lancaster, Head of Learning and Development Content at CIPD to answer the question: ‘What skills do today’s learning leaders require to guarantee organisational success?’
The latest research will be referenced by Dr Ina Weinbauer-Heidel, Head of the Institute of Transfer Effectiveness, in her presentation, ‘What makes training really work? The levers to more effective training.’ Ina will explain how to use levers in training programme design and will share practical tools and templates that delegates can use immediately to make their training more effective.
Robin Hoyle, learning strategist and author of Informal Learning in Organizations and Complete Training, is the Conference chair. He comments:
“We in L&D are being challenged more than ever to support our workforces to perform and succeed in rapidly changing environments. This conference is an ideal opportunity for us to learn from L&D specialists who are solving the same problems we face and getting the results we seek.”
