Webanywhere to present on MOOCs and open-source software at Learning Technologies 2015

LondonLearning NewsWebanywhere Limited

Webanywhere will be presenting at Learning Technologies 2015 how open-source software can be leveraged to deliver a world class MOOC at one tenth the cost.

Kristine Clough, Learning and Development Consultant will present how Webanywhere has worked in collaboration with a US fortune 500 healthcare organisation to develop and launch a platform leveraging a front end learning portal based on Drupal CMS and backed with Totara LMS.

The platform provides personalised, relevant, and interactive education where healthcare professionals can learn more about the company’s products and therapies through a wide range of courses, PowerPoints, procedural videos, and webcasts.

The system is a powerful learning technology solution which offers users a powerful MOOC experience that standard LMSs do not provide and at one tenth the cost.

Conor Gilligan, Head of Workplace Division at Webanywhere says: “The ground-breaking innovation with this project is that the MOOC is able to train the organisation’s employees, their value-added resellers and their customers, thus creating a “win-win-win”".

Webanywhere will present how it approached the project from reviewing the organisation’s challenges and requirements to the development of the platform and the benefits the company has seen since the launch of the platform a few months ago.

This is an opportunity to hear how a collaborative approach has resulted in the launch of a successful open-source learning platform.

The Learning Technology exhibition takes place on the 28th and 29th of January at the London Olympia, London. Visitors can attend the seminar on the 28th, at 3.30pm in theatre 2.
