Chicago, Illinois, USALearning NewsWebanywhere Limited

New elearning contracts for Webanywhere; market growth for learning technologies and digital creative services; new elearning roles in Chicago.

Based at the heart of Chicago, Webanywhere provides learning management systems with a focus on open source software. Following a period of rapid growth in the last year, with the implementation of several contracts for notable Fortune 500 companies, the company is actively recruiting new talent to fill a wide range of positions.

The organisation has recently hired a Learning and Development Consultant, a Moodle specialist, two support engineers and a VP of Learning Design and they are looking to extend the team further with several technicians and business development professionals.

Webanywhere incorporated in the US in 2010. The company chose the city of Chicago, the Midwest being the ideal location to serve customers located across the US.

With an estimated revenue of over $2 billion, the elearning market is expected to grow to $7 billion in the next three years. LMSs are widely used in the education, technology, manufacturing and healthcare sectors, generally by very large corporations with a turnover of over $750m and smaller companies turning over less than $5m, leaving a gap in the “middle market”.

Sean Gilligan, Webanywhere CEO says: “As an LMS provider already working with large, blue-chip US organisations in key markets, from retail to healthcare and technology, we see a very large potential to draw upon our experience to support companies requiring support to implement and integrate elearning solutions tailored to their requirements. Based on our current successes, we see a very bright future for the company in the US”
