Webanywhere have been recognised as one of the leading experts in Moodle configuration in a study that also named Moodle as one of the best learning management systems for workplace learning.
The report published by Learning Light, a UK-based independent e-learning consultancy firm, highlighted the top 8 performing learning management systems that are specifically adapted for the needs of corporate training organisations and training departments.
Learning Light carried out the research following the release of a statement from Business Innovation and skills (BIS) announcing that, from September 2014, Individual Learner Records for funded further education courses must show a minimum of ten per cent of individuals’ learning via materials delivered online.
David Patterson, Learning Light Director, says: “This is going to increase demand for LMSs in the UK – and, at present, there are some 600 LMSs from which to choose. We’ve based our analysis on the cost of ownership; features and functionalities; development pathway and future-proofing from a training industry perspective.”
Moodle, the open source platform, takes place in the ranking with Learning Light commenting: “Moodle is an open source platform and, thus, it offers a different cost of ownership. To get the best out of Moodle, you’ll need in-house skills or a solid partner.”
They go on to say: “Among the best configurations we’ve seen come from Webanywhere. Moodle has integrated Open Badges and Webanywhere can integrate Moodle with Google Apps.”
Conor Gilligan, Head of Workplace Learning at Webanywhere comments: “Webanywhere has been an official Moodle partner since 2006. We are the largest Moodle partner in Europe, the second largest in the US, and one of the biggest worldwide. We provide Moodle platforms for the education and business sectors including healthcare, retail, technology and finance, and our largest Moodle implementation to date houses nearly 1.5m learners. We are delighted to have been named by Learning Light.”
