Global e-learning firm to examine ‘flipped classrooms’
Webanywhere, an elearning services provider to the education and workplace learning sectors, has completed a research study into constructivism in the classroom; the findings will be announced and explored in an online presentation for educators on December 11.
Webanywhere has discovered 'flipped classrooms' is an often used but often misunderstood concept in modern e-learning. A team of learning technologists fom Webanywhere has completed a research study: investigating constructivism concepts and the implications for engaging students raised as part of the digital generation.
The goal of the research has been to harmonise the gap between workplace learning and traditional educational institutions. Using trainers as tutors and mentors has been common in workplaces, and is now formalising into the 'flipped classroom' approach to learning.
Trailblazing educators are already taking this up, and Webanywhere’s research is hoping to further this, by examining how educators can implement constructivist theory via a learning management system.
Webanywhere will report its research via an online webinar, using the Google+ Hangout on air tool. This will be taking place on Wednesday the 11th of December at 2PM GMT / 9AM EST.
