Lectora X.4 will speed migration to HTML5 and tablet-based learning, says Transition

Lectora e-learning specialist Transition believes that the release of Lectora X.4 could boost the adoption of m-learning on tablet devices that don't support Flash - and those that do.

When the iPad was announced, many e-learning professionals believed that it would become a great e-learning tool. There was just one problem: it doesn't support Flash - and a great deal of e-learning content is created using Flash.

"This has presented e-learning content creators with a problem," says Transition's Miles Corbett. "They have to reskill to adopt HTML5 - or avoid using the iPad as a delivery mechanism."

But the latest version of Lectora X, from Trivantis, neatly gets around this issue. "To Lectora X.4, HTML5 is just another means of publishing an e-learning project. That means it really doesn't matter what the final device is - you create an e-learning course, then publish to PC, Mac, iPhone, iPad or Android. It really is that simple."

In fact, according to Transition, which specialises in Lectora e-learning products and services, it's even easier, because Lectora X.4 comes with tablet and mobile templates to make setting up an e-learning course on a mobile device just the matter of a few clicks. "Lectora X.4 really is ready for the mobile learning revolution," says Corbett. "Tablets are with us now - e-learning providers need to be responding now. There's no need to reskill to HTML5 - or any other technology. Companies using Lectora X.4 can be delivering mobile learning on the iPad - or other devices - within a few days."

Lectora X users with a current maintenance agreement will receive the update to Lectora X.4 free, automatically - providing auto-update is enabled. Anyone who isn't using Lectora will get Lectora X.4 as part of the Lectora Inspire suite of programmes, which provide a complete e-learning authoring solution.
