Transition says that Lectora Inspire will cut e-learning development costs and timescales
Transition, a leading provider of Lectora e-learning solutions, believes that Lectora’s new integrated approach to e-learning will reduce costs and cut e-learning development timescales.
Lectora’s recently announced Lectora Inspire is the latest version of one of the world’s top e-learning development tools. According to Miles Corbett of Transition (one of the leading providers of Lectora e-learning development tools), it isn’t just changes to Lectora itself that make the upgrade worth buying – it’s the way that it comes with integrated versions of leading media creation tools.
“E-learning developers are used to dipping in and out of lots of different applications,” says Corbett. “It’s become an accepted way of working – but actually, it’s very wasteful of time and results in an unnecessarily complex workflow.”
So, Transition believes that common e-learning development tasks such as screen capture (either still or moving video) take far longer to complete than they should – and don’t integrate well with other tools. Lectora Inspire takes an integrated approach – and ships with special versions of Camtasia (for screen video capture), Snagit (screen stills capture) and Flypaper (Flash creation, without Flash).
“These tools are properly integrated into Lectora,” says Corbett, “and are launched from within the program itself. We’ve found that this alone dramatically cuts course development timescales.”
Another benefit is reduced costs – Transition is offering upgrades for those users of previous versions of Lectora with a maintenance contract from between £270 and £620 per licence. “And,” says Corbett, “our upgrade prices include another year’s maintenance fee.”
Those users without a maintenance contract are not forgotten either, and can upgrade for just £1,325 – a saving of £570.
