Totara acquires UK-based partners Think Learning and Chambury Learning to boost healthcare market reach, accelerate growth, and enhance customer-driven innovation in learning solutions.

Learning Management System (LMS) provider Totara has made its first acquisitions since receiving investment from Tenzing a year ago, of two system implementation and service partners: Think Learning and Chambury Learning. Both businesses are UK based and have partnered with Totara for a number of years, reselling, implementing and hosting Totara’s software. They also provide bespoke client content and complementary software plug-ins with a focus on the healthcare sector mainly NHS Trusts. The acquisition is part of Totara’s ambitions to enhance its route to market, which outside of North America has historically been exclusively through partners. Together, they bring 130 customers and around 70 employees to the group, providing about $10m revenue uplift. This compares to Totara’s 120 staff and roughly $30m ARR base, growing at more than 20% year-over-year.

For Totara, the acquisition of Think Learning and Chambury Learning brings the group closer to its end customers, helping dictate and accelerate future product development and customer experience, among other things.

Commenting on the deal, Dave Cruickshank, Chief Executive Officer at Totara Learning Group, said, “We are delighted to welcome Think and Chambury to the Totara team. Their deep expertise in the public sector and healthcare will be invaluable as we continue to drive global growth and innovation. Together, we’ll enhance our ability to deliver tailored, high-impact learning solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. We are confident that their contributions will help propel Totara to new heights and strengthen our position as a leader in the learning and development space.”

Think and Chambury will benefit from Totara’s resources to more effectively focus on their public sector and healthcare specialisms, as well as targeting larger tenders. Totara is forecasting strong continued growth in the next few years. Think and Chambury’s industry-specific plug-in applicationsdeveloped on the Totara platform, including tools for 360-degree feedback, supervision, and coaching/mentoringwill also be marketed through existing channels, expanding their reach to a broader customer base.
