New Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server connects Thrive with OpenAI, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Cursor and more.

Thrive, one of the fastest-growing learning technology companies, has announced the beta launch of its Model Context Protocol (MCP) Server, enabling organisations to connect Thrive with leading AI tools including OpenAI, Claude, Microsoft Copilot and Cursor — as well as their own internal AI agents.

This marks a major step forward for L&D teams.

For the first time, organisations can interact with their learning platform directly through AI tools they already use, making it faster and easier to manage learning, access insights and keep content up to date.

With the Thrive MCP Server, teams can:

  • Create, update and publish learning content
  • Set up and manage social learning spaces
  • Organise content with skills and tags
  • Access insights on completions, assignments and achievements
  • Endorse and manage content

All without needing to switch between multiple systems.

By supporting the Model Context Protocol, Thrive enables L&D, People and Operations teams to embed learning into the flow of work, reducing admin and freeing up time to focus on impact.

As one of the first vendors in the learning space to offer this level of AI connectivity, Frankie, Chief Product & Technology Officer at Thrive, commented:

“AI agents are rapidly reshaping how teams and businesses operate. Our focus has been on ensuring Thrive is not just AI-enabled, but truly AI-interoperable, meaning it can seamlessly connect to, communicate with and be actioned by multiple AI systems.

By launching our MCP Server, we’re giving customers the ability to securely connect Thrive to leading AI providers as well as their own internal agents, enabling interaction in both directions, not just retrieving information, but taking meaningful action in the platform.

This unlocks powerful use cases, from automated content management to real-time learning insights, all within the AI tools people are already working in.

Crucially, it allows organisations to operationalise AI at scale, embedding it into everyday workflows across L&D, People and Operations teams.

Just as importantly, we’ve built this with flexibility at its core. Every customer can move at their own pace, with full control over how and when these capabilities are activated, ensuring they remain secure, scalable and future-ready.”

Unlike traditional integrations, Thrive’s MCP Server supports two-way interaction across multiple AI tools, meaning organisations are not tied to a single provider.

The beta programme is now underway across Thrive’s 500+ customers, with wider availability planned in the coming months ahead of Learning Technologies.

The launch reinforces Thrive’s commitment to innovation and platform evolution, positioning the company as one of the first in the learning technology space to deliver true AI interoperability and leading the way in helping organisations navigate and benefit from the rapid pace of AI change.
