Birmingham, UKLearning NewsThe Training Foundation

The Training Foundation’s Director of e-Learning Clive Shepherd was in a buoyant mood last night after collecting awards in two categories at the glittering World of Learning Awards gala dinner. The highlight of the evening saw Shepherd honoured for making an Outstanding Contribution to the Training Industry.

Speaking moments after the awards ceremony Clive Shepherd thanked the judges and the award sponsors learndirect. He commented: “In many ways this award reflects the impact of the work that The Training Foundation has done over the last four or five years in building up programmes that have professionalised the skills of the e-Learning Industry. I am just one member of the team behind the Certified e-Learning Professional programme and others should also take their share of the credit.”

A spokesman for the awards organizers commented: “Clive was one of four individuals nominated under the Outstanding Contribution to the Training Industry award category. The judging panel was looking for an individual, within a company or working independently, who has made an outstanding and innovative impact on the training industry over a number of years and in a variety of learning solutions. In the view of the judges Clive’s contribution evidently made him a worthy winner."

Shepherd’s second award of the evening came under Generic Solution of the Year category for his popular and innovative e-Learning programme entitled Ten ways to avoid death by Powerpoint, which inspires and enables presenters to create visual aids that really make a difference.
