Extended DISC enhances team communication
Extended DISC has recently helped a large public sector organisation to significantly improve performance within a project team that was failing to achieve objectives within required timescales. The team, which had been working for several years, had had several changes of leadership suffering from severe internal communication and alignment problems. The Extended DISC system was used as part of a consultancy package to help individual and team development.
The Extended DISC system was used as a basis for individual coaching and team facilitation to help the team understand how they could communicate better and develop themselves in order to work more as a team. The reports produced by Extended DISC gave the team a clear understanding of why the communication in the team was not working. The facilitator could then help the individuals understand the behaviour of others in the team, how their behaviour was perceived by others in the team and adapt their own behaviour to improve communication within the team. Following the feedback of the reports a number of separate training and development interventions were recommended to further enhance the performance of the team.
Allan Parker, Director of Extended DISC commented “Extended DISC has proved invaluable for many organisation’s seeking to improve performance by effecting behavioural change at individual, team and organisational level”
