Can coaching give a good return on your investment?

Learning NewsThe Performance Solution

The biggest investment that any business makes is in people. All businesses, no matter what industry they fall within, have an element of having to manage people and to ensure that you receive a high level of return on this investment. Overcoming the challenge of improving motivation, dealing with difficult people and managing the team into high performance is a constant issue for people managers all over the world.

Businesses invest time and money into professional business coaching for their staff due to the need or desire to implement changes and/or discover new ways of working within their current business environment. For those of you that think your investment will be plain sailing, its not – as you would expect you have to provide it with the ability to grow and mature which means that a certain amount of time and effort is required from all parties. Although for businesses willing to try new things, and who keep an open mind to innovative thinking and have some accountability in the results, then the return on their investment is invaluable.

The International Coaching Federation Survey concluded the following benefits from coaching:
· 98.5% felt the investment was worthwhile
· 85% wanted a sounding board
· 78% wanted a motivator
· Over 50% experience greater self-awareness, self-confidence and improved goal setting and business results
· 40% wanted help with goal setting – especially financial
· 40% felt coaching enhanced their communication skills
· 33% felt they had more fun in the workplace

Over the last six months companies have witnesses a recent surge in Executive Coaching, and it seems now that any high performance executive will have his/her coach with the caveat that s/he adds value, has a corporate background and is up to date with commercial models and concepts as well as being insightful.

Unsupervised and unqualified coaches will not succeed in the ever-demanding marketplace. We, at TPS have had to make some harsh decisions about the coaches we work with and took the decision to refresh our portfolio. The results are fantastic. We have a team of extremely able, professional executive coaches who are in great demand especially at Board and Executive level.

Due to popular demand TPS are running a Certificate in Executive Coaching course, which is staged in 3x4 day modules at monthly intervals, and for those that do not aspire to the full certificate may attend one or two modules.

The Certificate in Executive Coaching is accredited through the Association of Coaching and successful candidates are authorized to use Extended DISC profiling tools in their coaching practice.
