Refract has announced the release of new functionality to its platform including Audio Uploads, Easy Sharing, Scoring, Advanced Reporting and Your Video Library.

Refract was launched earlier this year. A video-tagging platform available both via the web and mobile, designed to help make coaching and frequent feedback easier and more effective. Following its successful launch, the company has announced the release of new functionality to the Refract platform in time to showcase at World of Learning 2015.

"In a millenial era, the demand for frequent and more timely feedback is greater than ever-this is why we built Refract. Following our successful launch earlier this year, we are pleased to be exhibiting at the World of Learning, and showcasing the ongoing enhancements we are committed to making to the Refract platform," explains CEO Kevin Beales.

Its web-based platform and dedicated apps allow users anywhere to record, upload and review video, in order to issue feedback through customised tagging of key moments. Following on from the initial release of the Refract platform earlier this year, the company is to showcase brand new functionality at World of Learning 2015, including:

  • Audio Uploads: Refract now supports the upload of audio files to Refract (as well as video) – meaning a more flexible learning platform for end users.
  • Easy Sharing: Share tagged and analysed video/audio content with learners, managers, or clients. Toggle between private or public accessibility, and email links at the click of a button, to offer quick access to the Refract platform.
  • Scoring: Transform observations into formative or summative assessment experiences, by applying positive or negative scoring to individual tags. Refract will automatically calculate results and enable benchmarking of performance across individuals or groups.
  • Advanced Reporting: View reporting statistics at a glance in the platform, or export for offline viewing. Measure performance by individual or group by tags used and frequency.
  • Video Library: 'Your video library' provides best examples that have been shared by tag name and campaign. This enables users to share and profile examples from peers when coaching and providing feedback as a training aid, as well as the prestige of sharing clips as a ‘best example’. Build your video library and access on demand – presenting a fantastic interactive learning resource for employees.

Refract is on at Stand D60 at World of Learning at the NEC Birmingham, UK, September 29-30. Refract's CEO Kevin Beales will also be hosting a seminar at World of Learning on Tuesday 29 September entitled ‘We get more feedback on eBay! Coaching & feedback in a millenial era’. This seminar describes how to avoid the pitfalls of corrective feedback, the best practices for nurturing a coaching culture, and how to engage staff in the process.
