Reed Learning features new Virtual Assistant ‘Business Mastery’ programme for virtual support professionals

London, UKLearning NewsReed Learning

As businesses streamline personnel costs, and PAs seek the flexibility and career progression that comes with being self-employed, the role of the Virtual Assistant is coming to the fore. Reed Learning, one of the UK's largest providers of business training & development, has partnered with the Virtual Assistant Coaching and Training Company (VACT) to offer a new ‘Business Mastery’ programme aimed at Executive Assistants, PAs and secretaries going freelance as Virtual Assistants.

The Virtual Assistant Business Mastery (VABM®) course provides expertise on how to network, build a freelance profile and gain clients. Focusing on developing competence in three key areas fundamental to any small business: finding, gaining and retaining clients, it also features essential guidance on the financial aspect of working for yourself.

• Incorporating two days' face-to-face training and 10 weeks' part-time distance learning, modules are arranged over weekends to ensure flexibility for delegates
• New courses launch in Leeds in February and tour the UK through Manchester, Newcastle, Watford, Solihull and Woking for the rest of the year
• Face to face sessions are taught personally by Carmen MacDougall, owner of VACT, founder of the National VA Conference and Awards, Master NLP Practitioner and VA coach

"We know that large numbers of PAs and secretaries wish to pursue this innovative career path, yet don't currently have the tools or experience to set themselves up. Having an alliance with an organisation like VACT will allow us to be at the heart of the VA movement, so that whatever move our PAs and secretaries make, we are there to support them." says Emma Hicks, Strategic Partnerships Manager at Reed Learning and member of the IPA.

"I was very honoured to be approached by Reed Learning to provide VA training on a nationwide basis. Together we will be helping many PAs and Secretaries who have been made redundant, or who are seeking a new direction, to get the solid grounding they need to start the next part of their career as a Virtual Assistant." says Carmen MacDougall, VACT
