Premier IT launches online CPD system for the Royal Statistical Society

London, UKLearning NewsPremier IT

Premier IT is delighted to announce the launch of its latest online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) system for the Royal Statistical Society (RSS).

As a licensed body of the Science Council, RSS must revalidate its members who have Chartered Scientist (CSci) status. Following a successful online CPD pilot between Premier IT and the Science Council, RSS is the first body to have fully implemented its own version of the system so far.

The online CPD system enables RSS to automate the planning, management, administration and reporting of CPD activities for all its members. The Society has immediate access to management reports and auditing capabilities. These help it support its CSci members in meeting the mandatory requirements of the Science Council.

All members of the RSS worldwide can access their own online CPD diaries, activities and resources from any computer with an internet connection, generate their own personal development plans (PDP) and reflect on their learning within the system.

Gerald Goodall, RSS Director of Education and Professional Affairs, says “the implementation of a sophisticated, easy to use online CPD system makes it easier for RSS to manage its CPD policy and for members to participate. Premier IT has provided us with a splendid system. They have delivered on time, within budget and with exceptional service”.

RSS has around 7000 members in 50 countries worldwide. It promotes public understanding of statistics and provides professional support to statisticians and users of statistics.
