Premier IT is delighted to announce the launch of a fully integrated, online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and training management system for the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).

The IMI's recently launched Professional Register represents individuals committed to the highest professional standards and ethical conduct within the automotive sector. To demonstrate both their skills and continuing professional development, IMI members are required to commit to, and carry out, CPD activities. In order to meet the objectives of the Professional Register, the IMI required a sophisticated online engagement and CPD management tool, linked to the training and development activities of the organisation.

Through the integrated implementation of its e-Portfolio (PReP) and training management (TASK Manager) systems, Premier IT has provided a single sign-on solution that enables the IMI to:

• automate the planning, management, administration and
reporting of its CPD programme
• provide members with access to their own online CPD
diary, Personal Development Plans (PDP) and reflective
learning linked to professional standards
• manage a full training programme including courses,
resources, bookings, payments and third party training
suppliers
• let members view, book and purchase training courses and
resources as part of their CPD programmes

Lesley Woolley, Head of Professional Development at the IMI says "Premier IT has provided us with the ideal platform to help us support our members in meeting the mandatory requirements of our Professional Register. The fact that they have implemented a seamless solution is a credit to their professionalism and understanding of our requirements".

The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI) is the professional association for individuals working in the motor industry and is the governing body for the Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) and Automotive Management Accreditation (AMA) schemes. The IMI is also the Government-licensed Sector Skills Council (SSC) for the retail automotive industry.
