People 1st, which has a successful track record of working with local UK destinations to help them improve their customer experience, will be sharing its expertise with trainers, businesses and local government representatives at this year’s Learning and Skills Show on 28-29 January at Olympia.

Experts will be on hand at stand 365 to provide information on WorldHost customer service training – the programmes used to prepare thousands of staff and volunteers for London 2012 – and explain how local authorities and local enterprise partnerships can work in partnership with businesses to raise service standards and put their areas on the map.

Locations including Liverpool, Derry-Londonderry and John O’Groats have already used this partnership approach to achieve WorldHost Recognised Destination status – a badge of excellence awarded to local areas that work in partnership to raise their customer experience through the WorldHost programmes.

A number of other locations, including Newmarket, Hastings and Belfast, are working towards achieving the benchmark, while a £180,000 funding agreement was unveiled in December that will help 11 major regions across Scotland achieve recognition by subsidising the training for small businesses.

Over 1000 businesses across the UK have also achieved WorldHost recognition; companies such as Monarch, the Ministry of Sound and Aspen Healthcare were awarded this accolade in 2014.

People 1st’s director of sales, Simon Kitto, said: “We have worked in partnership with town centre teams, tourist boards, local authorities and Local Enterprise Partnerships to improve customer service standards and ultimately support local economic growth. The training and recognition has helped boost customer service standards and attract new visitors, while helping businesses increase customer loyalty and gain new customers through word of mouth, driving revenues and profits.”

“As a result, WorldHost programmes are fast becoming the first choice for local authorities, LEPs and business alike that are looking to focus on visitor experience. We’d be delighted to talk to anyone who would be interested in undertaking or getting involved in a similar project in their area, as well as individual businesses that would like to know how WorldHost could deliver benefits for their organisation.”

Visitors to People 1st’s stand will also be able to learn about a range of other solutions that will benefit their business, from trainer training to talent management tools, diversity initiatives, leaderships development, consultancy support and more.
