New and innovative technology: Turnitin continues to build on solutions that support academic integrity and authentic writing.

Turnitin is passionate about encouraging academic integrity and championing the innovative and effective use of its platform to support student learning. Recognized as the most effective tool for plagiarism prevention, Turnitin is the worldwide leader in providing holistic solutions for authentic student writing and valuable instructor feedback. Investing in cutting-edge technologies, Turnitin offers advanced solutions to address the rising challenges that both students and educators face in academia.

Turnitin will be visiting the OEB conference on December 5 - 7 to share insight into how Turnitin’s innovative technology can be used to prevent plagiarism, provide feedback, and enhance academic skills. The team can be found at stand D22 and will be ready to discuss the future of Turnitin’s new technologies.

In October, Turnitin welcomed to its team feedback platform, Gradescope. Gradescope’s capabilities bring efficient grading and assessments to those teaching STEM courses.

“Bringing Gradescope into the Turnitin family allows us to realize our mission across more subjects, with more instructors and students than ever before. Gradescope represents Turnitin’s first formal foray into STEM education, an area of increasing importance, that must also be held to high standards of academic integrity,” says Turnitin CEO, Chris Caren.

With the help of artificial intelligence, Gradescope offers one effective platform that supports time-pressed instructors in grading paper-based exams, online homework, and programming projects.

In addition to its new acquisition, Turnitin is actively responding to a growing customer demand to combat alternative forms of academic misconduct. With its upcoming solutions, Turnitin aims to bring evidence and confidence into contract cheating investigations, address plagiarism in non-text based disciplines, such as code, and solve inconsistent marking across cohorts.

“Taking on emerging threats to academic integrity like contract cheating is a natural extension of our mission,” highlights Turnitin CEO, Chris Caren. “As forms of academic misconduct evolve, so must Turnitin’s offerings. We believe in the value of higher education, and we see our forthcoming solution as playing an essential role in protecting the degrees institutions confer."
