Mumbai, INDIALearning NewsMPS Interactive Systems

Tata Interactive Systems (TIS), a global pioneer in learning solutions, completes 20 years of innovation and excellence in July 2010.

From a 3-person strong operation in Mumbai to a global learning enterprise, with four development centers in Germany, Switzerland, and India, and presence in the US, Canada, the UK, mainland Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, and Asia – the TIS story is a case study in the transformation of a vision into reality.

The history of TIS has been peppered with accolade after another – today the organization has nearly 50 international awards to its credit. Its recent wins include the Brandon Hall Gold and the APEX Awards.

TIS has pioneered several innovative learning solutions that have helped businesses, educational, and government institutions worldwide achieve their organizational goals – including SimBLs (Simulation-based Learning Objects), Serious Games and GamBLs (Game-based Learning Objects), Electronic Performance Support Systems, Story-based Learning, and an array of Web-based programs and learning software.

From its first export order in 1991, to its foray into the US and European markets in 1994, and into the UK in 1996, TIS has been one of the few organizations in the learning industry with a truly global presence. It expanded into the Middle East and Australia in 2002, and acquired German and Swiss learning companies in 2006.

Among its pioneering achievements is a unique learning forum, the Tata Interactive Learning Forum (TLF), an annual event that has developed into a platform for learning leaders across verticals and geographies to share innovations and insights. The TLF 2010, scheduled for September 9–10, 2010 will be held at The Taj Boston - A Tata Hotel (formerly Ritz-Carlton, Boston) with the central theme of Improving the Triple Bottom-Line of Training - People, Performance, and Profits.

Quality has been – and continues to be – a prime focus through the organization’s 20-year journey. Recently it received the ISO 27000 certification, in addition to its other notable certifications – it is the first learning organization in the world to have received the Level 5 certification in both the SEI CMM and P-CMM quality frameworks.
