Global learning solutions provider, Tata Interactive Systems entered 2009 on a positive note, continuing its positive growth trend and acquiring major new clients in Europe and North America.

Amidst the global slowdown that has impacted bottom lines across sectors worldwide, learning leader Tata Interactive Systems (TIS) continued its positive run in all its markets globally. TIS even acquired several major corporations as its clients in the European and North America regions.

According to TIS CEO, Sanjaya Sharma, “Tata Interactive Systems has had a good year despite the global slowdown. We are entering 2009 with a strong order book. Not only did we continue to win big orders from our global clients, we are proud to have won nine international awards and nominations in 2008. We aim to ensure the success of our clients’ key organizational initiatives, as we have done for several Fortune 500 companies worldwide.

“Being cash positive, we continue to look for strategic acquisition opportunities,” Sharma added. In 2006, TIS had acquired the leading simulations entity in Germany and the leading e-learning entity in Switzerland.

Amita Karia, CFO at TIS, says, “We’re glad we took the opportunity to venture into Europe as our investment has begun to bear fruit. The acquisitions have been successful and we have also acquired a few major clients after establishing a presence in Benelux & Scandinavia.”

2008 also saw Tata Interactive Systems extend its annual Tata Interactive Learning Disability Forum (TLDF) to Kolkata in addition to Mumbai. J C Mistry, who heads the LD activities at TIS, added, “This year, we conducted the first-ever research in India on ‘life after certification,’ based on interviews with 361 students certified at the Lokmanya Tilak Hospital over the past six years.”
