Global e-learning producer, Tata Interactive Systems (TIS), has launched a corporate e-learning-related blog (http://blog.tatainteractive.com).

According to TIS's Geetha Krishnan: "The blog aims to use the power of the internet to engage our markets, customers and the larger e-learning community around the world by articulating our views, our challenges and innovative thinking around e-learning, instructional design, and technology enablers - such as blogs and wikis - in an informal way. We want to create an open dialogue, build trust, showcase our strengths and provide the 'world outside' with a window to our world."

As corporate learning develops from being 'linear' to 'multi-threaded' with internet and knowledge management, learners now expect to learn through navigating through a web of meaning, not just causal chains of information. Moreover, in TIS's view, learning is increasingly being seen as a continuous resource, available as and when required.

Alan Samuel, head of TIS in the UK, commented: "As learners take responsibility for arranging their own learning opportunities and as learning becomes more interactive, so such things as email, discussion forums, chat, wikis, podcasts and blogs will come to form a significant part of the e-learning offering."

Recent discussion themes on the TIS blog (http://blog.tatainteractive.com) include online games and simulations, along with 'performance consulting' within learning design.
