TATA Interactive Systems (TIS)'s 'Barplus' project for British Airways (BA) has won a prestigious Silver Medal at the 2005 Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards.

TATA Interactive Systems (TIS)'s 'Barplus' project for British Airways (BA) has won a prestigious Silver Medal at the 2005 Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards. The winners of the 2005 Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards were announced at a ceremony at the Training Fall Conference and Expo Incorporating Online Learning in Long Beach, California, on 18th October.

Alan Samuel, TIS's head of operations in the UK, explained: "Barplus is a point of sale system. The Barplus e-learning programme that we have developed trains BA cabin crew in the system's operation.

"So far, nearly 7,000 of the 15,000 cabin crew who need to operate the system have successfully completed the programme."

The Brandon Hall Excellence in Learning Awards are presented by Brandon Hall Research, one of the leading research and consulting firms in training and development. Now in its eleventh year, the Awards programme showcases exceptional work in innovative learning.

"The winning entries this year show a great combination of creativity and practical results," said Brandon Hall, PhD, chairman of the Excellence in Learning Awards programme. "The winners are excellent both in terms of innovation and impact on the business. These winners show us what the future of learning looks like."

This year, entries were submitted in three categories: Custom Content, Innovative Technology, and Outstanding Case Studies.

In 2005, a total of 210 entries, representing 16 countries, were submitted. The entries were evaluated by independent judges with expertise in instructional design and learning technology from 47 countries around the world. This year's winners are listed at www.brandon-hall.com.
