E-learning's Marathon Man

Learning NewsMPS Interactive Systems

Pankaj Jathar, of leading e-learning provider, TATA Interactive Systems (TIS), is in strict training to take part in his first London Marathon - being held on 17th April.

Jathar, who has been in strict training since the beginning of the year, is more used to the gentler exercise of playing good quality Surrey club cricket. However, he has stepped up his fitness regime in order to run in the world's best known marathon - and raise much needed funds for the work of the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) around the globe.

Jathar commented: "Working for such a quality-conscious company at TIS, it is natural to take the marathon training seriously and conscientiously.

"TIS's processes are assessed at Level 5 in both SEI CMM and SEI P-CMM by KPMG - making TIS the only e-learning company in the world with this distinction. Level 5, the highest rating possible, guarantees a culture of excellence, with the highest productivity, the lowest possible defects and the best cycle times.

"This, coupled with TIS's ISO 9001 and TickIT certifications, ensures that clients get what they are promised - and more.

"It's important to apply the same dedication to excellence and concentration of quality in order to succeed in anything - whether it be e-learning materials, playing cricket or competing in a marathon," he said. "Naturally, I am hoping not only to perform well in the race but also to raise as much money as possible for UNICEF's valuable work."
