TATA Interactive Systems champions the international perspective
As part of its on-going commitment to promoting best practice in training, TATA Interactive Systems (TIS) has sponsored the International Training Project of the Year category in the 2002 Institute of IT Training (IITT) Awards, which were presented at the Dorchester Hotel on 7th February. At the Dorchester, Sambit Mohapatra, of TIS, formally presented the Award to Alan Maguire of the winners, Electric Paper, the Dublin-based international e-learning company with offices in Harrow, Middlesex.
The winning campaign began last August and involves the Department of Families in Queensland, Australia, Electric Paper and Skillgate Pty Ltd. Already the project has shown signs of radically improving the IT skills of over 3,000 staff in Queensland's Office of Child Care.
According to Electric Paper's Maguire: "There has never been a similar programme carried out in Australia - or anywhere else in the world, as far as all parties to this programme know. As such, the programme is highly innovative and leads the world in terms of providing IT skills training for professionals in the highly demanding and vitally important area of child care."
Sambit Mohapatra, of TIS, commented: "As a company with clients throughout the world, TIS believes that delivering learning materials via technology has a world-wide application. This is certainly our clients' experience and we are delighted to be able to promote this concept by recognising the praiseworthy efforts of Electric Paper in helping to improve not only the efficiency of Queensland's childcare professionals but also, thereby, the treatment of the children in care in that state."
