As BHS stores continue to close across the UK and more than 11,000 workers are being made redundant, current and former staff members of the high street retailer are being offered a helping hand to gain new skills and improve their CV by eLearning provider Learning Heroes.

BHS entered administration following financial difficulty in May. The British retailer had over 160 stores, all of which will be closed by 20th August, leaving thousands of workers searching for a new position. Learning Heroes is now offering BHS employees free, unrestricted access to their content library of eLearning courses in order to help them refresh and learn new skills and improve their job prospects.

Mike McGann, Learning Superman at Learning Heroes, said, “When the news of BHS closing down came out staff members received messages of well wishes but we wanted to offer something more and really help the employees that have been affected. So we have given them access to all of our content for six months allowing them to update their CVs and secure new employment going forward. BHS staff, and others keen to improve their skills, can find a huge range of courses on Learning Heroes to boost their job prospects and career progression.”

Learning heroes aims to provide entertaining and informative online learning courses that offer an alternative to the typical eLearning offerings. Since launching the eLearning platform has had over 260 clients sign up and none have cancelled their membership. Companies Learning Heroes works with include the NHS, Specsavers, npower, TalkTalk, AstraZeneca and Royal Mail.

The platform is updated with new content weekly and offers clients an opportunity to tell Learning Heroes what courses they would like to see being added in the future. The service also offer flexibility, enabling clients to cancel at any time with a simple and fixed pricing option rather than charging per head or per course.
