LINE Communications, one of Europe’s leading providers of learning and communications solutions has been chosen to provide leadership training for mid-level and senior-level staff within the NHS.

After an eight month process, the NHS Leadership Academy has appointed a consortium of academic, professional services and patient-led organisations led by KPMG and in conjunction with Manchester Business School and University of Birmingham. LINE has been chosen alongside Unspun Limited, Harvard University, Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University and University of Pretoria as part of this consortium, to assist with the design and delivery of the programmes.

The whole programme of leadership training will be rolled out from September this year to up to 25,000 NHS staff – including doctors, nurses, Allied Health Professionals, healthcare scientists and HR and finance staff and will see them learn how to lead their teams and/or services to achieve better, more compassionate patient care. The programme will also include a Foundation Level which the NHS Leadership Academy will design and deliver alongside distance learning provider The Open University and global management consulting firm Hay Group.  The Foundation programme is for NHS staff aspiring to a role that involves leading others; the mid-level is for those who manage teams and services, and the senior level programme, for experienced individuals who aspire to executive level roles.

All the organisations were chosen through a competitive and rigorous tender process, which saw more than 30 organisations bid to be part of the consortia.

Bruce Woods, Director for Professional Services at LINE says, "We are delighted to be part of this consortium alongside some of the leading academic, professional services and patient led organisations. LINE's ability and experience to help create change in large organisations through learning innovation was key to our position on the consortium, and we look forward to engaging our core team on this very important programme for the NHS".
