LINE launches LINEstream® 2.0 with responsive design
LINE has announced version 2.0 of LINEstream®, the leading enterprise platform for mobile learning and communications. Among other updates and refinements, version 2.0 introduces support for responsive design meaning that it can support all mobile devices and desktop output.
Using LINEstream®, learning teams can now create, publish and update high-quality content quickly and easily for use across the whole range of devices used in today's organisations, including smartphones and tablets - but also desktop PCs. LINEstream® 2.0 also includes significant enhancements to both the user interface and the quality of content output.
Since its release in 2012, LINEstream® has garnered high praise not only from the learning teams who use it, and from end-users but also from independent analysts. Elearnity, Europe's leading independent analyst in the space, described LINEstream® 1.0 as 'a scalable and easy platform to implement' with an 'intuitive authoring interface, which requires little training'. Their in-depth report talks about its 'simplicity and agility' and states that the 'dual capacity to create and deploy mobile learning apps is a real positive'.
LINEstream® 2.0 maintains and improves this ease of use for authors, with a simplified dashboard, and adds further unique control in publishing options. Content can be output as web app/SCO (Sharable Content Object) or as a native installed app (on supported iOS and Android devices) or both. Authors can also choose to 'lock down' the content for specified devices or orientations (e.g. Android/landscape). Via integration, SCORM or Tin Can tracking is now offered.
LINEstream® 2.0 also has powerful enhanced collaboration and workflow features for team working and peer review, which make full use of its potential as a cloud-based solution. It thus adapts excellently to the diverse governance situations within today's large organisations, where creation and control of learning content can be either highly centralised, federated or devolved.
Piers Lea, CEO of LINE, said: "We're really excited about this release of LINEstream. We believe the performance is second-to-none in the market. Our 'one-click' publishing system enables our clients to easily create, manage, publish both native installed app and responsive content so they can reach the widest audience at speed. The ability to make a change and have this flow out to all devices 'over the air', but still use native app benefits, means that a true 'learning channel' can be created. This is immensely powerful in today's complex and ever-changing business environment."
