LINE Communications, a key provider of learning and development solutions to the defence sector, has sponsored Rally for Heroes (R4H), a 7-day road trip across Europe, aimed at raising money for service personnel who have fallen in the Afghanistan conflict.

The road trip, which is totally self-funded by the drivers, will see the participants drive 50 vehicles 2500 miles through France, Italy and into Germany. The rally will take place over 7 days from the 18-25th August, leaving from the Top Gear track in Surrey and finishing in Nurburgring in Bavaria.  There will be 5 miles travelled for each of the fallen service person who have lost their life in the conflict.

The team hope to raise £100,000 which will be split between Help the Heroes and the Royal British Legion charities. The target represents just £300 for each life that has been lost in the conflict.

Keith Downes, Director and Defence Lead, LINE says, “We are delighted to be able to support this fantastic Rally for Heroes event. As a key provider to the Defence sector, it is our privilege to support these worthwhile causes. We send our very best of luck to all the drivers for the event in August”.

Mark Jackson, Team R4H said, “On behalf of the R4H Team I would like to pass on our thanks to LINE for your support of the event and its objectives. It’s important to reiterate that without sponsors like yourselves the event would not be possible.”
