LINE Communications, one of Europe’s leading providers of learning and communications solutions has been awarded a Silver award for Excellence in the Production of Learning Content – Private Sector at the 2012 E-Learning Awards. The award was given for a programme titled Outstanding Leaders, which was designed and delivered for British Airways together with LINE’s partners ORConsulting.

The blended learning programme forms part of British Airways’ Behaviours for Success programme and comprising a two-day workshop, video scenarios, online and offline activities, printed materials, social networking, blogs and support tools.

Since its launch, the Outstanding Leaders programme has received excellent feedback and evaluation has shown a significant impact on the organisation. The programme has also been highly cost effective to British Airways, having reduced time in the classroom by a third with learning being maintained and used, consistency in language and behaviours being demonstrated and communications and relations being vastly improved.

All of the learning modules, videos and online challenges have been redesigned for iPad delivery to access cabin crew, who often have difficulty accessing online programme materials as they are frequently on-the-move. These are made available via the British Airways internal app store.

The judges’ commented that, ‘the programme’s careful design of the silver winning e-learning meant that six months after completion 73% of managers and peers had seen the learning embedded into their day-to-day work’.

The gala evening was held at the Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London’s Mayfair. Over 200 entries were received from all over the world and nearly 500 people gathered to celebrate the strength and depth of successful e-learning that is taking place across the globe.

Steve Ash, LINE’s Sales and Marketing Director commented, “We are delighted to receive this award, the second we have won this year for our work with BA. The partnership of BA, LINE and ORConsulting has created a powerful leadership development programme that is already delivering tangible business results into BA"
