Double award honours for LINE
LINE Communications, one of Europe’s leading providers of learning and communications solutions, scooped double honours at the 2011 e-learning Awards.
The glittering gala evening was held at the Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square in London’s Mayfair. Over 200 entries were received from 20 countries and almost 500 gathered to celebrate the strength and depth of successful e-learning that is taking place across the globe.
LINE won a Gold award for Excellence in the Production of Learning Content with the AO Foundation Fracture Classification programme. LINE worked with AO and specialist surgeons to create a learning programme that combines the best in narrative, gaming and realistic practice. Surgeons of all levels of experience have found that the style of learning helps them properly internalise the AO/Müller Fracture Classification System and gives them ample opportunity to drill and refresh this newly-learnt ability.
LINE also won a Silver award for Best Use of Mobile Learning with the Royal School of Artillery Fire Control Orders programme which was designed for the Apple iPad.
Both of these programmes have generated significant results for the organisations that commissioned them both in terms of overall cost savings and levels of retained knowledge. Both have also been cited by users as significantly improving the quality of their learning experience.
Keith Downes, Director and Defence Lead says: “The LINE Defence team is incredibly proud to have won this award. It’s recognition of the innovative stance taken by the Royal School of Artillery (RSA) in looking for ways to optimise Fire Control Orders training, their adoption of the iPad as a delivery device and is a fine example of motivational and cost effective training . The project was conceived, developed and delivered collaboratively with the RSA and the relationship continues with the Voice Procedures project which started in November.”
Ade Derbyshire-Moore, General Manager of LINE Switzerland says: “I’m delighted that we’ve won our first major international award for a Swiss client. This Gold award is recognition of AO Foundation and LINE’s efforts at creating a learning programme that surgeons of all backgrounds and levels of experience identify with and find absorbing.”
