LINE sustains growth and consolidates market leadership despite recession
LINE Communications, one of Europe’s leading learning and communications providers announces record core sales figures for the period January to December 2009, during the longest and deepest recession on record.
Core sales results rose by almost 10% on the previous record achieved in 2008. Sales were particularly strong in the defence and corporate sectors. Core turnover also grew over the previous year. LINE attributes this success to a number of factors, including greater recognition in both the public and private sectors of the effectiveness of technology-led learning and communications solutions.
LINE's focus on the attainment of tangible business results for its clients is cited as another reason why 12 new clients have chosen to work with LINE. A number of strategic alliances were also created during the year which expands the breadth and depth of LINE's market offering. These include arrangements with Cap Gemini, Outstart, Certpoint, Comartis, Mohive and Crystal CG.
Currently celebrating 21 years in the industry, LINE has been through previous recessions. This one is very different in that the company has increased its market share and consolidated its market leadership position despite the downturn. Difficult trading conditions have compelled organisations to look at new ways to meet their learning and communications priorities. Technology enabled learning is now more embedded in organisations and its proven ability to deliver results is a key driver across all sectors when looking at ways to meet their learning and development needs.
Piers Lea, CEO at LINE says, "As organisations move out of recession the speed of change and the volume of effective knowledge transfer required to sustain it, continue to pose challenges. Technology enabled blends are often the only efficient way to deal with these challenges, particularly at scale and where multiple language variants are required. The quality and talents of the LINE team mean that we are ideally placed to design and deploy solutions to meet these strategic imperatives."
