LINE, one of the UK's market leading providers of learning and communications solutions has been selected for final judging in the 2010 BETT awards. The selection is in the Digital Collections and Resource Banks category and is for a 'Level 6 Science Toolkit' which LINE has developed for National Strategies. The toolkit is a library of over 2,000 individual resources which helps school teachers deliver improvements in the way they teach the subjects and provide better, more focussed support to pupils.

As part of the Science and Innovation Investment Framework 2004-2014: Next Steps, new targets were set to improve Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) skills and to 'grow' more scientists in the country in order to keep pace with competitors in the global economy. The Level 6 Science Toolkit forms one of the key actions in addressing a continual improvement in the number of pupils getting at least level 6 attainment at the end of Key Stage 3 and grades A*-B in two science GCSEs.

Finalists for the award will be announced on 12th November and the winners will be presented with their awards at a ceremony on 13th January 2010 at London's Park Lane Hilton hotel.

Steve Ash, Director of Sales and Marketing at LINE says, "The BETT awards showcase exemplar digital products intended for use in the education market place. LINE is delighted to have been selected for final judging as the Toolkit is an excellent example of creativity and innovation in its field. The Toolkit has had a major impact in helping to raise levels of attainment within schools. It has also helped to increase the number of pupils wanting to learn more about science."

The selection continues LINE's excellent record for awards this year, having already won a UK National Training Award and having been shortlisted in four categories at the forthcoming e-learning Awards which take place in London on the 12th of November.
