E-learning market forecast to exceed $2tn by 2035

Learning News

Analysts project sustained growth for digital learning, driven by scale, cloud delivery and enterprise demand.

The global e-learning market could reach $2.28 trillion by 2035, according to a forecast by ResearchAndMarkets.com: an aggressive long-term growth expectation for digital learning across education and workplace settings.

The forecast assumes growth from $349bn in 2025, equivalent to a striking compound annual growth rate of 18.6% over ten years. This level of growth is underpinned by a continued shift towards online learning, improved digital infrastructure and the ability of cloud-based platforms to deliver learning at scale.

Business-to-business learning accounts for the largest share of market activity in the forecast, rather than consumer-led demand, driven by sustained employer investment in digital learning infrastructure.

The market outlook is built largely around delivery and scale, not design. This sits alongside a workplace learning narrative increasingly shaped by the influence of AI on learning design, personalisation and skills development, and a backdrop of continued pressure on corporate L&D budgets.
