Writer, speaker, broadcaster, Steve Wheeler, chaired the emerging technologies part of the conference at LT2024 and afterwards joined Learning News to share what came up.
Steve Wheeler: “AI wasn't the only subject, thankfully. AI was mentioned in terms of an underlying platform for everything, almost like a unifying force that brings everything together. I don't think a lot of people in the room had thought about it that way before.”
“L&D is probably the wrong lens to be analysing new technologies with. Everyone was taken a-back by that, but it should be a user perspective.”
“Technology is too visible and we concentrate more on the technology than we do on the learning. That's a huge mistake that L&D is continually making. Use the technology but imagine it's a window that you see though to enhance learning.”
