Call to support people living in food poverty

LPILearning News

The LPI has launched Learning Relief 2022 in support of the Trussell Trust.

The LPI is making a call to the workplace learning industry in support of the Trussell Trust.

It's a sobering fact that there are over 4 million people in the UK who are deemed to be living in 'food poverty', with over 2 million that directly rely on food banks.

With interest rates at their highest level for 14 years, energy prices through the roof, and almost daily price increases on fuel, food, and services, we are truly in a cost-of-living crisis.

“We shouldn't need food banks. But they are here, and millions of people have no choice but to use them. We can help those who are struggling. We must help,” explains Ed Monk of the LPI.

The LPI is calling to friends and colleagues in the L&D industry to donate and has launched 'Learning Relief 2022' to raise funds for the The Trussell Trust - a charity that provides emergency food and support to people locked in poverty, and campaigns for change to end the need for food banks in the UK.

Help us work towards a future where food banks are no longer needed.
