A life devoted to others

Learning News

Learning News tribute to Queen Elizabeth II.

“I declare before you all that my whole life, whether it be long or short, shall be devoted to your service and the service of our great imperial family to which we all belong.”

- Queen Elizabeth II

Learning News sends its condolences to the Royal Family and thanks the late Queen for her life of devotion to others.

It is difficult to put into words how much the Queen meant to people. ‘Constant’ is a word we often hear and again used by Charles in his tribute. In a world full of change, both positive and negative, the Queen was a constant reassurance for people.

The Queen carried an awesome responsibility for us all and for over seven decades put others first. She gave compassion, kindness, duty, generosity and so much more and was a remarkable servant to people all around the world.

This picture, the last published picture of the Queen, shocked many to see just how frail the Queen appeared, yet still working aged 96 years, welcoming the new Prime Minister to her role. Seeing this image and hearing again her declaration to the world in 1947 is another reminder to add to the countless others of the debt of gratitude we owe to Queen Elizabeth II.
