In 2020 Learning Technologies Group acquired the Moodle technology and services vendor Open LMS from Blackboard, followed by two further Moodle-related acquisitions, eCreators in Australia and eThink Education in the US, creating the world’s biggest Moodle learntech business, with around 160 employees and hosting around 2,000 Moodle LMS sites. 

The new group of companies is being integrated into a single entity, Open LMS.

Learning News caught up Piers Lea, Chief Strategy Officer for LTG and Phill Miller, CEO of Open LMS, to learn about the move. We asked Piers and Phill about the Moodle market opportunity, the education technology sector’s needs and priorities and about their plans to support the global Moodle community.
