Louise Pasterfield on growing Sponge, creativity and developing people

Louise Pasterfield, Sponge, talks about growing the business and how people and creativity are at the heart of Sponge’s success.

 

At Learning Technologies 2019 Learning News caught up with Sponge’s Managing Director, Louise Pasterfield, to ask her about Sponge’s recent Learning Provider of the Year Award and what plans she has for the business in the year ahead.

Louise spoke about how creativity and developing people at Sponge is a primary focus and pointed to two programmes at the company which allows creativity to flourish: Sparkworks, a collaborative creativity think tank where Sponge explores new tech and new ideas with its customers and Sponge University, through which it aims to build the design and development skills it needs.

Addressing Sponge’s upcoming challenges, Louise singled out recruitment as the number one focus for the business in 2019 and how her team is currently working to recruit eighty new jobs to support the company's recent expansions around the country, including in Sheffield where Sponge opened its latest office.
